Mr. Knutson was married in Norway to Anna Olson on Sept. 20, 1884. They came to America that same year and lived on a farm near Brandon until 1903 when they moved to a farm south of Alexandria. In 1908, they moved into Alexandria and it had been his home ever since. His wife passed away Oct. 15, 1923. Born to them were two daughters and five sons. One daughter, Caroline (Mrs. Henry Nelson) died in 1908 and three sons died in infancy. There are three surviving children who are: Ida (Mrs. Art Alger) of Osakis, Carl Knutson of Alexandria and Oscar of Sacramento, Calif. Mr. Knutson is also survived by four sisters and one brother, who live in Norway, and five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
In the fall of 1926 he was married to Kristina Bjerketvet of Alexandria, who still survives him. They lived together in Alexandria until last June, when he was taken ill and went to live with his son Carl, where he was tenderly cared for. All that loving hands could do was done for him, and when all medical aid failed, he passed away to his heavenly home.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 29, at 1:30 from Anderson's Funeral Home and at 2 o'clock from the Bethesda Lutheran church with Rev. L. B. Sateren officiating. The pallbearers were Ole Johnson, Olaf Larson, M. B. Heglie, J. R. Hanson, Olaf Silverberg and Adolf Oberg.
