Frances W. Abbott, 94, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Born in Albemarle County on September 3, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Woodson and Ethel Moses Woodson.

Frances was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church. She retired from Frank Ix & Sons.

Survivors include her sister, Shelby Zedekar and her husband, Raymond of Houston Texas; two granddaughters, Sara Beth Abbott and Torri Abbot Dukes and her husband, Jim of Pearland, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Kyndell Nichole and Kamren James Dukes of Pearland, Texas; one great-great-grandson named Drew, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Woodson; a son, Ralph Raymond Woodson; four brothers, Archie Woodson, John Woodson, Jack Woodson, and Harry Lee Woodson; and three sisters, Irene Woodson Sprouse, Pauline Wingfield, and Lucille Abbott.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2015, in the Teague Chapel with the Rev. Robert Price and Bill Mills officiating. Interment will follow at Monticello memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Ray Workman, Eric Workman, Ralph Taylor, Michael Cates, Pete Banton, and Joe Crickenberger.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Baptist Church, PO Box 4881, Charlottesville, VA 22905.
