CLINCHPORT, Va. - Ben Berry, 80, entered into rest Thursday (Dec. 26, 2002) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

Mr. Berry was born in Scott County, Va. on Dec. 1, 1922, son of the late Arbin and Lula Duncan Berry. He was a farmer and retired from AFG. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, his son Frank Matthew Berry, two sisters and four brothers preceded him in.

He is survived by his wife, Stella Lane Berry, Clinchport, Va.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Priscilla and Earl Casey, Church Hill, Tenn., Janie and Danny Jones, Clinchport, Va. and Flora and Dale Smith, Gate City, Va.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Benny and Delores Berry, Church Hill, Tenn. and David and Sandra Berry, Clinchport, Va.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; sisters, Flora Johnson, Kingsport, Tenn., Ruth Gantner, Detroit, Mich., Ona Hood, Church Hill, Tenn., Kate Dalton, Kingsport, Tenn. and Frances Williams, Knoxville, Tenn.; brother, Frank Berry, Mars Hill, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth Neeley and the Rev. Charles Rhoton officiating. Way of the Cross Singers will provide the music.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Holston View Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
