Alice, 84, formerly Ottawa, passed away at 11:49 a.m., at her home.
She was the daughter of Philander Rufus John and LaVera Mildred Elizabeth (Sibert) Sammetinger. On Dec 28, 1951, she married Roal Eugene Shepler, Jr., who preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons: Roal E. III (Denise), Findlay, and Jeffrey (Nancy), Edgerton; two daughters: Lori Winne, Erie, MI, and Sharon Common, Northville, MI; and nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers: Howard and Neal; and a grandson, Roal E. 'R.J.' Shepler IV.
A graduate from Blume High School, Wapak, in 1949, received her Bachelor of Education from Bowling Green State University in 1965, Summa Cum Laude, she taught school at Edgerton Middle School for 28 years. She and her husband traveled all over the United States and 6 continents. She enjoyed gardening and quilting. She received the Outstanding Senior Citizen of Putnam County in 2008.
Funeral Services will be at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa, with Pastor Lynda Lockwood officiating.
