Charles Raymond King, age 84, passed away early December 17th at River's Bend Health Services after a courageous battle with ill health. Charles was born to Raymond and Edna (Kappleman) King on November 27th, 1938, in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. He attended Washington High School in Two Rivers, and on January 5th, 1957, he married Barbara Balte at St Mary's Church in Manitowoc. Charles worked at Aluminum Specialty for 18 years, moving to Manitowoc Cranes and eventually retiring from Schaus Mechanical. He loved gardening, baking (especially tortes), woodworking, and his beloved dog Koko. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, and their 3 children: Dave (Cheryl) King, Manitowoc, Annette King (DJ), New Franken, and Sue King, Manitowoc; 5 grandchildren: Aaron (Kayla) King, Rachel King, Brandon (Ali) King, Austin (Stephanie) Lemberger, Ashley (Scott) Salentine; and 10 great-grandchildren: Joey, Payton, Mystique, Izaiah, David, Easton, Gwen, Brynn, Ellie, and Finn. He is further survived by his brother, Donald King, brother and sister-in-law Francis and Darlene DeBaere, along with many nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Edna King, siblings Virginia (Bill) McGovern, Marilyn (James) Sweetman, James (Joyce) King, Everett (Diane) Greetan, sisters-in-law Katheryn Charlotte, Marianne (John) Benesch and Taffy. A funeral service to celebrate Charles' life will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Grand Site, 1416 Grand Ave., with Rev. Doug LeCaptain officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at the church from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Charles will be laid to rest at Knollwood Mausoleum.
