Jean E. (Boeder) Alsvig, 82, of Ottawa, died Wednesday morning, January 28, 2015 at the OSF Saint Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at the Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church in Ottawa, with Rev. Timothy Johnson, Pastor, officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa. Burial will take place on a later date.

Jean was born on March 30, 1932, in Manitowoc, WI, to Alfred and Grace (Kukral) Boeder. She married Gordon Alsvig on September 23, 1961, in Chicago. Jean worked as a nurse in Chicago, Minneapolis, and Ottawa. She was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church in Ottawa.

She is survived by her husband Gordon; a son, David Alsvig, of Ottawa; 2 daughters, Kathryn Pellett, of Ottawa; and Karen (Michael) Sanders, of Greenville, TX; 6 grandchildren, Deseray Alsvig, Shanna and Jeffery Sanders, and Christopher, Kyle, and Cameron Damyen, 2 great-grandchildren, Preston and Madison Roberson; a brother, Alfred Boeder and a sister, Grace Boeder, both of Manitowoc, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be directed to the Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church.
