Ambrose J. Herman, 72 (above) of 1209 Division St., Manitowoc, retired foundry foreman, died late Saturday a his home. He had been seriously ill six weeks.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 9 o’clock at St. Andrew Catholic Church. The Rev. Henry Letz will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Born in Manitowoc in 1879, he spent his entire life in the community. In 1902 he married Miss Clementine Wensherske. The couple was planning to observe their golden wedding next Sunday, when he was stricken ill. For many years he was a foreman at the Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry Company, retiring two years ago.

Survivors are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. E. J. Fleck of Milwaukee; son, William of Manitowoc; three brothers, Joseph, Adolph and John of Manitowoc; three sisters, Mrs. George Halverson of Manitowoc and Mrs. Arthur Paul and Mrs. Erving Degenhart of Chicago.

Friends may call at the funeral home where the rosary will be recited at 7:45 p.m. Monday.
