LONG ILLNESS CLAIMS AGED CITY PIONEER
Mrs. Mary Hermann, nee Meyer, aged 67, who for over fity years has made her home in Manitowoc, died early this morning at her home at 1202 South Thirteenth street after a lingering illness. Most of the surviving relatives who were summoned to her bedside yesterday were present when the final call came.
Mrs. Herman was born in Hostau, Germany, and came to this country at the age of nine years, coming directly to Manitowoc where she has since made her home at the age of 17 she was wedded to Oswald Hermann and ten children
were born to the couple, nine of whom survive to mourn the death of their mother.
One son, William, died some years ago as did the father. The children are, Mrs. Anna Cherney of Chicago, Joseph, Ambrose and Mrs. Rose Halverson, all of this city; Adolph of Madison, Mrs. Alma Paul of Chicago, Mrs. Agnes Murphy of Chicago, Mrs. Harriet Degenart of Chicago and John Hermann who made his home with his mother.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. from the St. Boniface Catholic church, the Rev. Fathers Peil, Kersten and Binder officiating, a solemn high mass being read. The burial will take place at Calvary.
