Mrs. Alice Holmes, 37, wife of Second Mate Wilbur Holmes of the Merchant Marine, died early today at Maple Crest Sanatorium. The body was removed to the Pfeffer funeral home and will lie in state after noon Sunday. The Holmes’ residence is on route 2, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, 8:30 at the funeral parlors and 9 o’clock at Sacred Heart church with the Rev. Louis Schorn officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.
Nee Alice Kraemer, Mrs. Holmes was born in Sheboygan May 5, 1908. Nineteen years ago she was married to Mr. Holmes.
She leaves her husband, stepfather and mother, Mr. and Mrs. William Zabel, two daughters, J’Ette and Sandra and three sons, Wilbur, Jr., John and James and three sisters, Mrs. James Beachman of Chicago, Mrs. Rodney Marx, Milwaukee and Mrs. William Maertz, Jr., of Reedsville.
Mrs. Holmes was a member of the Germania society.
