George F. Eggert, age 80, a resident of 934 S. 22nd St., Manitowoc, entered into eternal rest, Friday, Oct. 22, 2004 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. A memorial service will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 628 N. Water St., Manitowoc, on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Rev. Tom Wojciechowski OFM will officiate. Inurnment of his cremains will be at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until the time of services at 7 p.m.

George was born July 22, 1924 in Manitowoc, to the late George Sr. and Bernadette Gagnon Eggert. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre of War. On May 16, 1953, he married Alice Wagner in Sheboygan. Mrs. Eggert preceded him in death on Aug. 21, 2001. George worked for more than 30 years for the Manitowoc Post Office as a letter carrier. He retired in 1986. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc.

Survivors include three sons: Anthony Eggert, Alan Eggert and Paul (Michelle) Eggert, all of Manitowoc; two grandchildren: Alex and Bryce Eggert; also other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife; two sons: Andrew and Mark Eggert; and a sister: Lois Miller.
