Edward Manx Varney, 76 of Watsonville, Calif. passed away, April 9, 2015 at Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula.

Edward was born January 1, 1939 in Greenfield California. While Edward was his first name, everyone called him “Manx”.

Manx was a faithful, loving husband to Mary Sue (Fultz) Varney, whom he married October 30, 1959. They were in the 56th year of marriage and had 5 children.

He is survived by his wife and 4 children, Kerry Lynn Botto, Edward Allan Varney, Michael Wayne Varney, Marianne Gayle Thorpe; one brother, John D (JD) Varney; 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and his 2 chihuahuas, Gizmo and Spike Lee.

Manx was preceded in death by his parents John W and Effie E (Carter) Varney, two sisters, Shirley F Merrit, and Sherry D Fields, and a son Thomas R Varney age 2 1/2 yrs.

Manx was a long time member of the Assemblies of Yahweh. He served as a local leader and was involved in the missionary program, working with the prison ministry. He loved spending time with loved ones and friends. He was always there for people in need, he was always just a phone call away.

Manx was a master craftsman in multiple fields, and was able to travel the world as a field service technician for Lantis Corporation.

SERVICE INFORMATION:

A Visitation is scheduled to be held, Wednesday, April 15, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Eddington Funeral Services Chapel, 333 E. San Antonio Drive, King City, Calif.

A Funeral Service will be held, 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Eddington Funeral Services Chapel.

Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, 42603 Elm Avenue, Greenfield, Calif.
