Vera K. Stalvey, of Covington, passed away September 26, 2014, at the age of 94. Mrs.Stalvey lived in Rome, GA until she moved to Covington in 1975. She was a member of Covington Church of God in Covington, and a former member or East Rome Church of God, where she taught Sunday School. Mrs. Stalvey enjoyed quilting, crocheting and ceramics, but her focus was being a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norwood A. Stalvey; grandsons, Scott Stalvey and Tony Stalvey; great grandson, Matthew Stalvey; parents, Randy and Mary Louise (Morgan) Wright.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Sharon Stalvey of Covington, Billy and Evelyn Stalvey of Dahlonega; 6 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; brothers, Otis Wright of Toronto, Canada and Wesley Wright of Rome; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service for Mrs. Stalvey will be held Monday, September 29, 2014, 12:00PM, at East View Cemetery, 725 Kingston Ave, NE, in Rome with Pastor Ricky Kelley and
Wesley Wright officiating. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Sunday, September 28, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.

Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions be made in memory of Mrs. Stalvey to Newton Medical Center – Auxiliary and Volunteer Services, 5126 Hospital Drive, Covington, GA 30014.
