Daughter of James Manning (1789-1865) and Jane Palmatier, Sarah was born August 1822, but baptized 12 December 1824 at the Catskill Reformed Church, along with her older siblings Isaac, Mary Ann, Joshua, and Laurence.

She married Angelo Brower, who appears to have moved to California after her death.
