They resided in Stockton Street, San Francisco from 1851-1856 and their youngest son, William Folsom (1852) was born there. After George Jackson's death, Jane married Jeremiah Wallace SULLIVAN, a pioneer newsagent in San Francisco. Second daughter, Ann, married James W JOHNSTON, a dagurrean artist in San Francisco and Fanny married Martin Collins HYNES.
In 1856 Alexander, Ann and their three sons, Alexander, James and William and daughter, Catherine, returned to Sydney per the ss JANE A FAULKENBERG, and Alexander resumed his tailoring business in Clarence Street Church Hill.
