HOWARD E. LECLAIR

Howard E. LeClair, age 93, a resident of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc, died on Thursday morning, Aug. 19, 2010, at Shady Lane.

He was born on Aug. 16, 1917, in Two Rivers, son of the late Albert and Anne (Duerschmidt) LeClair. Howard was a graduate of Washington High School, Two Rivers, class of 1935. He worked with his father in the commercial
fishing industry until 1942. Howard then served with the United States Army in the 320th Engineer Battalion of the 95th Division serving in the European Theatre and was honorably discharged in Nov. 1945. On Aug. 24, 1946, he married the former Florence Baetke at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc.
She preceded him in death on May 3, 1997. Howard was employed at Emil Schaus Hardware Store and later at the Mid Cities Mall until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of the Manitowoc Knights of Columbus, and was an usher at the former Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter: Mary; two brothers: Raymond and Roland; a sister: Dolores; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Jean and Bud
Baetke.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 23, 2010, at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be
the Rev. Dan Felton with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Graveside Military Rites will be accorded by V.F.W. Otto Oas Post No. 659.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, Manitowoc, from 9:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 23 until 10:45 a.m.
The family wishes to thank the 3rd floor of Shady Lane for the wonderful care given to Howard.The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
