Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Harold Berryman will celebrate the Mass of Resurrection and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Matczynski was born Dec. 3, 1896, at Manitowoc, son of the late John and Katherine Zagrodnik Matczynski. He married Lucille A. Ratajczak, Aug. 26, 1924, at St. Hedwig Catholic Church, East Krok. After marriage the couple made their home in Manitowoc. Mr. Matczynski had been employed with Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc. for 42 years, retiring in 1962. He was a member of Boilermakers Local 442.
Survivors include his wife, two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and LaVerne Matczynski of rural Manitowoc and Robert and Phyllis Matczynski of Manitowoc; a brother, Frank Matczynski and three sisters, Mrs. Edward (Blanche) Karl, Mrs. Frances Dietz and Mrs. Sophie Lachowicz of Manitowoc, nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Two brothers, John and Joe, and two sisters, Valerie and Alice preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. A prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m.
