Mrs. Margaret Heap was born near Manchester England, on March 20, 1810. She came to America in 1832. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hubble, 9 miles north of Hays, January 6th, 1904. She had been married twice and survived her second husband 34 years. She only lacked a little over five years of living an entire century. Five of her daughters, Mrs. Inman of Oklahoma and Mrs. Hubble of Ellis County. Three sons, one resides in Oklahoma, and the others in Wyoming. Two of her sons were soldiers in the civil war on the union side. She enjoyed good health most of her life up to a short time before her death. She was from her youth a consistent member of the Episcopal Church. The Funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hubble, and were conducted by Rev. Holt of the Baptist Church of Hays.
