She was born Aug. 1, 1927, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Adolph and Bernadette (Murray) Stangel. Ellen received a degree from Marquette University, Milwaukee. She taught school in Kiel for several years early in her life. On June 30, 1951, she married Donald Mueller in Manitowoc. The couple moved to Hendersonville in 1988 from Weston, Conn. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish.
Survivors include her husband Donald Mueller, Hendersonville, N.C.; a son and daughter-in-law: Peter and MaryBeth Mueller, Oconomowoc; two daughters and sons-in-law: Terri and Tom Williams, Mason, Ohio; Diane and Pat Salvo, Newtown, Conn.: five grand-daughters; a brother and sister-in-law: Charles and Patricia Stangel, Manitowoc, and a sister: Ruth Ann Kretschmer, Saginaw, Mich.
She was preceded in death by a son: Louis Mueller; two sisters: Elizabeth Kreft, Marian Sondergaard and a brother: Paul.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, Manitowoc, from 10 a.m. Monday. March 13, 2006, until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m.
A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 13, 2006, at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, Manitowoc. Officiating at the memorial service will be the Rev. Paul DeMuth with entombment of the cremated remains at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
