Eugene (Gene) S. Hurt was the son of Judge Elbridge Seawell Hurt and Laura Eugenia Burris. He was the grandson of Judge James Mann Hurt, Jr. who was the presiding justice on the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. Gene was a captain and then a Major during World War II with service in Europe under General Patton's command. Gene was an avid fisherman. Gene was married to Ann Wilson soon after WWII. He graduated from the University of Texas in Austin. He was an attorney in Brownsville, Texas. He loved music playing the guitar, organ and singing. He had blonde hair and blue eyes. He was a kind and loving person. He was a great uncle to me. He is greatly missed.
