George S. Woody is the son of Joshua & Angeline Stanfield-Woody who settled in Decatur County from North Carolina in the early 1800's. The family settled on a 640 acre farm east of Scotts Hill, Tennessee.

George S. Woody is the Father of Bessie A. Woody-Bingham, two other daughters (Della Woody-Britt & Nevada Woody), and two sons (Vester and Bob [possibly Robert] Woody).
George S. Woody and his wife are buried in Bath Springs (Tennessee) in the Kelley Cemetery.
George S. and Lessie Wallace-Woody died sometime between 1901 and 1909 as best as I can tell from the information that I have.
In the United States Census of 1880 George S. Woody was listed as the son of Joshua A. Woody (46) & Angeline Woody (44). He is listed as 10 years old and as being born in Tennessee in 1870.
In the United States Census of 1900:
George S. Woody was listed as the head of the household.
Being 30 years old and married 10 years.
Residing in Decatur County.
