Ira Baldwin was the brother of Ezra Baldwin and the Uncle of the Baldwin brothers who homesteaded in Ottawa Co, Kansas in the late 1860's and early 1870's. As far as is known, Ira never married and had no descendants. At one time, was a proprietor of a hotel in either St. Mary, KS or Solomon, Ks. Eleanor Baldwin mentions staying at this hotel and visiting her husband's Uncle Ira on the way to homestead in Ottawa Co, KS, in her diary of that momentous trip.
