Marveljune R. Malone, 85, of the 3100 block of Sixth Avenue died of a heart aliment Monday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton's Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Maxwell Cemetery in Maxwell.

Mrs. Malone was born in Iowa Center and had lived in Des Moines since 1956. She had been a licensed practical nurse and a clerk with the U.S. Postal Service in Des Moines. She was a member of Highland Park Lutheran Church and the Licensed Practical Nurses Association. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan and enjoyed computers.

She is survived by a daughter Kim Gravitt of Carroll; a stepdaughter, Ardie Roachell of Little Rock, Ark.; a brother, Richard Whitney of Des Moines; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold William Malone.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
