In 1922 he rejoined Ruth (who was an outfielder by then) with the Yankees and helped them win the World Series in 1923. On September 4, 1923 he pitched a no-hitter against the Philadelphia Athletics. Considered a "workhorse" by many, he pitched 3883 innings during his career with 250 complete games. His career record is 229 wins and 217 losses.
