Major League Baseball Player. He pitched in twenty-two seasons for the Cleveland Indians, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Saint Louis Browns, Washington Senators and Chicago White Sox. In 1918 he was part of a pitching rotation that included Babe Ruth. The team would win the World Series that year. In 1922 he rejoined Ruth (who was an outfielder by then) with the Yankees and helped them win the World Series in 1923. On September 4, 1923 he pitched a no-hitter against the Philadelphia Athletics. Considered a "workhorse" by many, he pitched 3883 innings during his career with 250 complete games. His career record is 229 wins and 217 losses.
