This must be around 1966. Kenny still is able to present himself as he was before the alcohol ruined him. He could approach suave in a suit. I will always remember his grammar, he had an excellent vocabulary.

This is the "hat". Kenny owned this for about 10 years. Many of the family were put off by it but the same family members would sure make over the pics and the memorys when he wasnt around. His skill on the piano was outstanding. Etched into my memory is a mental picture of Kenny one morning with both wasted hands wrapped around a "boozie". This is 9 am. He was shaking so bad he had to move his head to the glass and not the glass to lips. These same hands were once brilliant on the piano.
Kenny may have been drunk much of the time but at least he was real. I wish you could have heard him play. When South Pacific came to Burlington, in the late 50s, Kenny was the pianist. He was brilliant. Later he broke most of his limbs and both shoulders and many ribs by falling drunk here and there. I remember a day with him toward the end and he spaced his drinks, staying sober, so we could travel around Reseda for a whole day. It was a wonderful day. We shared this and I am better for it. GODSPEED! He also was sober when we walked in to the Silly place. These were best of days.
He was murdered by some miscreant he befriended.

Kenny you get the gate! I took this picture on our walk. This gate figures large in my memory. I was so happy to find it still in place. I love gates to this day, all kinds, especially open gates.
