Mike Anderson, fireman on a Mo Pacific freight running between Jefferson City and Kansas City, was knocked from his engine and killed, while going thru Grand Pass Monday morning.
He was standing on the tender of the engine, which was passing other cars, and it is thought the protruding rod struck him. He fell beneath the wheels of the moving train an was horribly mutilated.
The home of the deceased was in Jefferson City where he had a wife and five children. Coroner Scrutchfield went up Monday afternoon and held the inquest, the body was then taken to Jefferson City, The funeral was held at the home.
