CITY NATIVE DIES AT 35 IN HOSPITAL

Alex Barthuly, 35, of 3387 Melody Lane, Route 1, died at 9:40 p.m. Thursday at St. Agnes Hospital.

He was born Sept. 23, 1934 in the city, a son of John and Katherine Popp Barthuly. He married Bette Hungerford Feb. 13, 1960.

Mr. Barthuly was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Air Force. He was a superintendent of Gas Line Construction. He was a member of Lake View Non-Denominational Church, Oshkosh, and a youth leader of Awana boys Group.

Surviving are his widow; two daughters, Pamela and Janell, both at home; one son, Alan, at home; four brothers, Otto, John and Herbert, all of the city and Walter of Los Angeles; three sisters, Mrs. Adolph Hunt and Mrs. Gordon Zwicky, both of the city and Mrs. Herman Burkhart of Madison; and his mother, Mrs. John Barthuly of the city.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with the Rev. Calvin Elifson officiating. Burial will be in Estabrooks Cemetery.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Alex Barthuly, who died Thursday, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, Pastor Calvin Elifson and Robert Rolff officiating.

Burial was in Estabrooks Cemetery. , Lynda Marks and Paulette Wagner sang a duet, and Edgar Frater was soloist. Louise Otterstatter was organist.

Pallbearers were Larry Barthuly, Kenneth Burkhardt, Ronald Speder, Lieg Speder, LeRoy Halle and Douglas Zimpel.

Trier-Puddy Post 75 of the American Legion conducted graveside services with the following participating:

Color bearers, Henry Rucks and Tage Swanson; color guards, Frank Osgood and Albert Balthazor; firing detail, Andrew Johnson, Thomas Corcoran, Edson Stubbs, Leo Marcoe, John Pitas and T. E. Sullivan; bugler, Bradley Curran; and commander L. E. McEnroe.
