Lana Waterston was a beautiful beautiful woman inside and out. Lana was handicapped, but that didn't stop her from anything! Lana was the type of woman or actually from when she was young, that had to dress just right and have her nails perfect, matching scrunchie in her hair to match her clothes and she beamed like the sun. Her smile was addicting. She lured you in with it and once you were in there was no getting her out of your heart! Lana was my brother Joe's best friend. He adored her and when Lana's mother Elsie passed away, She went into Parkwood hospital, and my mother would take her on weekends and bring her over to the house to see Joe or they would go on outings. I say it's at that point that she took over the sister role of Joe to my mother as my sister and I had moved out. My loved it though as did Lana. Lana's sister Deb, is an exceptionally wonderful person! She did so much with Lana and shared a connection with her much like I did with Joe. Deb has been through a lot with loosing Lana but has been a wonderful help to me since I lost Joe, and the two of us know the two of them are together and probably up to no good, haha just kidding. They would be in Joe's computer room and my mom would hear chuckling coming from them and go in and they'd stop talking as if these were their secrets only and for no one else to know about. Lana is fondly remembered and terribly missed by not only her family but by ours as well as we have seemed to be a joint family due to the two of them and their closeness. Deb and I talk pretty regular and we try to help each other, as it's been two years since Lana's death and about just over a month since Joe's. She's helps me more than I do her right now I think but I adore everything she has done for me even if it's just listening to how I feel. We relate and Joe and Lana touched Deb and I, being the sisters of them, the same way it seems. Our bonds with our siblings were much the same and when I go to talk about a feeling or memory, she can pretty much finish my sentence for me that's how well she understands. Lana was in Parkwood hospital in London and when given the option of a feedtube due to asperation which Joe also had, she refused. She didn't want to live unnaturally, so she said no and died at age 42. It's great to have Deb's understanding in my life! Lana was lucky to have such a great sister! God Bless you Lana and keep you, and we know you and Joe are together so take care of each other until we meet again!
