Rex was the next to youngest son of Z.A. Patterson and Ada Idella Short. He married Pauline Hampton on July 16, 1949. Together they had three daughters, one son, one grandson, and one granddaughter. Rex was a carpenter and a millwright by trade and had worked in most of the southeastern states. He died at UAB hospital in Birmingham of lung cancer. We miss you, Daddy!
