Hugo Petersen was born in Schleswig, Iowa, February 6, 1890, the son of Broder and Christina Lorenzen Petersen. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He attended school and grew to manhood in this area.
Mr. Petersen served in World War One. He came to Alexandria, Minnesota in 1948 and made his home with his brother, Harry and family.
Hugo passed away at the Douglas County Hospital, April 28, 1979, at the age of 89 years. surviving are two sisters and one brother: Mrs. Carolyn Adams of Fort Pierce, Florida; Mrs. Hertha DePledge of Fort Pierce, Florida; and Broder Petersen of Schleswig, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Martin, Meinhardt and Harry.
Funeral services were held May 1, 1979 at Anderson Funeral Chapel, Alexandria, Rev. K. K. Hill officiating. Interment was at Kinkead Cemetery, Alexandria, Minnesota. Pallbearers were Kenneth Beckman, Jeff Carlson, Jerry Jorgenson, Glenn Seal, Paul Trushenski, Edwin Wildung. Arrangements with Anderson Funeral Home.
