He was a long time Borger resident, but has made his home in Amarillo for the last 18 years. He attended North Texas State University in Denton and floral design schools in Denver and Houston. On June 12, 1965, Bob married Sandra Remy, his high school sweetheart and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June.
In September 1965, Bob and his brother, Jim, joined the family business, Ed Brown and Sons Funeral Directors and Brown’s Flowers with Ed and Vi. In 1992, Bob retired and in 1997 moved to Amarillo where he volunteered at Baptist Saint Anthony’s Hospital for several years continuing his passion of floral design.
Bob loved the mountains of New Mexico and spent many years with his wife, two sons and many friends snow skiing, snowmobiling and multiple other mountain adventures.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Ed and Vi Brown, a brother, Jim Brown and a sister, Sue Brown, all of Borger. Survivors include his wife, Sandra, his two sons, Damon Brown and wife Tammy of Midwest City, Oklahoma and Daren Brown and wife Liz of Amarillo and four grandchildren, Zach, Noah, Riggins and Whitten.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 15, 2015, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo, Texas.
