ASBILL, Carol Ratchford, age 51 of Lakeland, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, February 22. A native of Aiken, SC., Carol was a graduate of Aiken High School and Clemson University. She spent the majority of her career at Publix Supermarkets, ultimately as Manager of Associate Services.
Known for her servant’s heart, Carol was actively involved in numerous civic organizations, including the United Way of Central Florida, the Alliance for Independence, and the Achievement Academy.
Carol is survived by her husband Christopher L. Asbill, and two sons Reid Noah, Cincinnati, OH, and Mark Noah, a student at University of Central Florida in Orlando. She is also survived by her parents, Anita and Dan Ratchford, Aiken, SC; sister Dana Thrash (Dave), Charlotte, NC; brother Andy Ratchford (Kelly), of Moraga, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Friday, February 27, at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, Lakeland, FL, followed by a reception in the Welcome Center. Memorial gifts may be made to Alliance for Independence, 1038 Sunshine Drive East, Lakeland, FL 33801 (www.afi-fl.org).
