Myrl Flannery, 66, of Stanford, KY passed away Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington, KY. Born January 3, 1949 in Barridge, KY to the late Palmer and Gladys Reynolds Flannery, he worked as a farmer for most of his life and was a former employee of Buffalo Springs Cemetery, Saufley's Implement in Stanford, KY, and Triplett's Farm Supply in Danville, KY. He was also a member of Pleasant Run Baptist Church.


Survivors include his former wife of 39 years; Brenda Carole Flannery of Stanford, KY, two daughters; Gladys Cameron and Amanda Singleton both of Stanford, KY, three sisters; Kathy Smith of Lebanon Junction, KY, Betty Price, and Sue Robbins both of Crab Orchard, KY, six grandchildren; Ethan James, Lil' Danny "DJ" Cameron, Courtney Cameron, Jonathan Cameron, Noah Singleton, and Mayley Singleton, one great-grandchild; Chandler Douglas, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.


Visitation will be Sunday, May 17, 2015 from 6-9pm at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. Funeral service will be 2pm Monday, May 18, 2015 at the funeral home with Reverends Vola Brown and Jeremy Gilliam officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, KY. Casket bearers are: Ethan James, Lil' Danny "DJ" Cameron, Alan Turner, Steve Smith, Carl Smith, and Jamie Turner. Honorary bearers will be: Noah Singleton, Mayley Singleton, Courtney Cameron, Jonathan Cameron, Chandler Douglas, and Lester Cook
