Hiladio Hurtado was born in Mexico.He was my Great Grandfather on my mothers side. He married Maria Nieves Olieves and migrated to the U.S. They raised their children in the U.S. and were very happy. He was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad.
He was a very tall and handsome man. He was a kind and gentle man.

HURTADO RITES
Funeral services of Hilario Hurtado, 69, retired Santa Fe laborer, who did at the Santa Fe Hospital in Topeka, Kansas, Sunday following a short illness, will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. John J. MacInerney in charge. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetaery. The body will be taken from the Wilson-Johnson Mortuary to the home at 1102 S. Steuben, Chanute, Kansas, today.
Hurtado came to Chanute in 1914. Survivors are his widow: four daughters, Mrs. Maria H. Martinez, North Platte, Nebraska, Mrs. Jane H. Gutierrez,Chanute,Ks, Mrs. Consuelo H Cabrera,Winfield,Kansas; and Mrs.F.Marquez,Gering,Nebraska; a son Mike Hurtado,Chanute,Kansas; 21 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren' and three sisters in Mexico.
