Mrs. Mary Porter Dies This Morning
Funeral Services Set At 2 O'clock Friday From Laughlin Chapel
Mrs. Mary Belle Porter, 62, died at 9:15 a.m. today at her home, 206 West Oakwood Avenue, following a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Laughlin-Service funeral chapel with the Rev. J. Otis King officiating. Burial will be in the State Line cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, James T. Porter; one son, James Lloyd Porter of Huntsville; three daughters, Mrs. Ella Reese and Mrs. Lawrence Henson, both of Huntsville, and Mrs. Josephine Guy of Sylacauga; her mother, Mrs. Ella Pitts Mason of Jefferson county; four sisters, Mrs. Dana Brooks of Madison Cross Roads, Mrs. Irene Williamson of Lincoln county, Miss Ebby Mason and Mrs. Ruth Graves, both of Jefferson county; six brothers, Arthur and Joe Mason, of Huntsville, Oscar Mason of Tennessee, Floyd Mason of Skinnum, Tenn., Sidney and Dan Mason, both of Birmingham; also five grandchildren. Mrs. Porter was a member of the Methodist church and a native of Lincoln County, Tennessee. Brothers of the deceased will serve as pallbearers.
