Joan “JoAnn” Kelley, 98, passed away in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Joan was born on November 28, 1916 in Whitesboro, Texas to the late Andrew Forrest and Thressie Maeyers Scheid. She met and married Boyd Kelley on August 14, 1940 and they had one son, Judge Oliver Kelley. He preceded her in death on August 3, 2000 and Boyd in July of 2001. Joan traveled the world with Boyd who was in the broadcasting field. He owned and operated several TV and radio stations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for many years. Joan and Boyd moved to Wichita Falls in 1948. She was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family. Joan’s passion was her foundation, the Joan and Boyd Kelley Foundation to help promote Christianity around the world. She met and married O.C. Harper, a Disciples of Christ Minister, on September 10, 2005 and they enjoyed eight wonderful years together most of which were spent on a ranch in Wilbarger County.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents, husband’s, Boyd Kelley and O.C. Harper, son, Oliver Kelley, brother, Martin Van Scheid and sister, Vieda Scheid Hardman.

She is survived by her step- sons, Robert Harper of Wichita Falls and John Harper and wife Pat of Lake Livingston, brother, Max Scheid of Garland, daughter-in-law, Maryann Kelley of Belton, grandchildren, Andrew Kelley and Christine Kelley Rosenberg and husband Bill of Belton, great-granddaughter, Mia and numerous nieces and nephews.
