Dorothy Baker Finefrock Howard Bramhall

Dorothy Finefrock Howard Bramhall was born Dorothy Anna Belle Baker to Ethel E. and Fred P. Baker in Kingston, New York on January 24, 1923. She left this earthly world on May 8, 2015 to be with her heavenly father.

Dorothy grew up and was educated in Chicago, Illinois. In 1944, she married Luther Harold Finefrock in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania who was on his way for a tour of duty with the U.S. Army overseas during World War II. After Luther's discharge from the Army, they moved west to Ajo, Arizona where their son, Raymond and daughter, Phyllis were born. Dorothy was active in the children's school, social, and church activities. She also served as Guardian of Bethel #15, Job's Daughters for several years. Luther was employed first by Phelps Dodge Company in Ajo, AZ and then with State Farm Insurance until his death in 1974. After Ajo, the family moved to Phoenix for several years before relocating to Yuma, AZ, where Luther had his State Farm agency for 25 years before his death in 1974. Luther and Dorothy were married 30 years.

In 1975, Edward A. Howard and Dorothy were married. She retired early from Arizona State, Department of Vocational Rehabilitation with ten years of service, and they traveled extensively in the west, Alaska and Canada, but kept Yuma as their home. They were avid square dancers both in Yuma and Lolo, Montana where they spent many summers. Edward died in 1990.

In 1991, Dorothy met and married David Bramhall, also a square dancer, and they were active in the Yuma Square Dance Association and also danced summers at Lolo, Montana.

One of Dorothy's greatest joys was being a volunteer worker for the Hospice of Yuma Thrift Shop for 14 years.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, David Bramhall; children, Raymond (Carla) Finefrock and Phyllis Rowe; seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Patrick) Dunn, Matthew (Cyndi) Finefrock, David (Stephanie) Finefrock, Timothy Finefrock, Stephen (Bethany) Rowe, Melanie Rowe, and Brian Rowe; seven great grandchildren, Raven Sierra Finefrock, Haylee Grace Finefrock, Adam George Finefrock, Wesley Raymond Finefrock, Zachary Wayne Dunn, Isabella Sophia Rowe, and Emma Sophia Rowe; as well as two step-great grandchildren, Morgan Taylor Dunn and Ethan Blake Dunn.

Dorothy is also survived by her beloved pets, Candy and Noname.

There was a memorial service on May 14, 2015 at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. Cremation was handled by Yuma Mortuary at Dorothy's request. Memorial donations can be made to the Yuma County Humane Society or Hospice of Yuma.
