A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, Nov. 22, for Francisco "Frank" Bautista, 90, a retired Tracy High School teacher and World War II veteran, who died Nov. 12 at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.
Mr. Bautista was born in San Leandro and taught Spanish and U.S. history at Tracy High for many years. He had lived in Modesto the past 40 years.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Kathleen Schneider Bautista of Modesto; children, Mark Bautista of Salinas, Andrea Duke, Celine Bautista and Lance Bautista, all of Modesto, Paula Bautista of New York City, N.Y., Sean Bautista of Reedley and Melanie McFarland of Manhattan Beach; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and 12 nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Antonio and Anna Maria Bautista; two sons, Kurt Brian Bautista and Brian Francis Bautista; and three sisters, Juana Zaballos, Anita Hernandez and Virginia Castillo.
Monday's Mass will begin at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 1813 Oakdale Road, in Modesto. Military burial will follow the service. A rosary will be recited between 4 and 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, at Franklin & Downs Funeral Homes, 704 12th St., also in Modesto.

FRANCISCO (FRANK) BAUTISTA SEP 3, 1920 Frank Bautista passed away peacefully on Nov. 12 at Doctors Medical Center. He was 90. Born in San Leandro, CA, he lived in Modesto 40 years. He was a combat WWII veteran, and a retired high school teacher, in Tracy, CA. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kathleen Schneider Bautista, and their children, Mark Bautista, of Salinas, CA, Andrea Duke, of Modesto, Celine Bautista, of Modesto, Paula Bautista, of New York City, Sean Bautista, of Reedley, CA, Melanie McFarland, of Manhattan Beach, CA, and Lance Bautista, of Modesto; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Rosary will be held at Franklin & Downs Funeral Home, 704 12th St., Modesto, 4-7pm, Sun., Nov. 21st.
