DAUGHERTY, Beverly Ruth Batson, 74, of Follansbee, W.Va., passed away
Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at Valley Hospice, Steubenville, Ohio.
She was born
June 6, 1936, in Steubenville, Ohio, daughter of the late Dorman "Red" and Grace
Long Batson. Beverly was also preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack"
Daugherty on March, 9, 2000, and one sister, Hazel Henry.
She was a member of
Follansbee Church of Christ, a homemaker, and lovingly cared for more than 75
children as a babysitter for more than 25 years in her home.
Surviving are
two daughters, Pamela Hamric (Dan) of Winchester, Va. and Susan Pietranton
(Mark) of Weirton, W.Va., one brother, Dorman "Chuck" Batson (Paula) of New
Milton, W.Va., one sister, Joan Roberts (Lauren) of Follansbee, W.Va., four
grandchildren, Chelsea and Joshua Hamric and Mark and Mia Pietranton.
Friends
will be received on Friday, Jan. 14, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the James
Funeral Home, 1245 Main St., Follansbee, W.Va. 26037, where funeral services
will be held on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. with Jonathan Absher and
Bill Cooper, ministers, officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Hills
Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, W.Va.
