MARSHALL -- Services for Theodore "Ted" Heck, 89, of Minneota, and formerly of Marshall, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Albright United Methodist Church in Marshall. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation at the Hamilton-Birk Funeral Home in Marshall will be Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Monday, one hour prior to services at the church.
Mr. Heck died Friday, Oct. 25, 1991, at Weiner Memorial Medical Center in Marshall.
He was born on Feb. 27, 1902, in Shirley, Ill., to Grant and Kathryn (Alvis) Heck. He received his formal education in Illinois and later moved with his family to Whiting, Iowa. He and Blanche Violet Poland were married on Oct. 14, 1922, in Onawa, Iowa. They farmed in the Marshall area. In October 1976, they moved from the farm to Marshall. In 1986, they moved to the Madison Avenue Apartments in Minneota. He was a member of the Albright United Methodist Church in Marshall. He enjoyed hunting and telling hunting stories.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Ruth (Mrs. Peter) Gunlogson and Edith (Mrs. Ruben) Holstein, both of Marshall; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one brother, James of Sioux City, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 11 brothers and sisters, and one grandson.
