BURNS FATAL TO COUNTY WOMAN
Mrs. Ella Bailey, 66 years of age, of Waldron, died at the Major hospital at 5:30 a.m. Saturday [Nov. 14] of complications resulting from burns suffered six weeks ago when she was building a fire in her furnace.
She was born in Union township, Shelby county, on October 9, 1876, the daughter of Fredrick and Katherine (Eck) Coers. [She was first married March 11, 1897 to Ephraim Redenbough, who died Feb. 10, 1912.] She was then married to [Fernando] "Ferd" Bailey on [Feb. 24,] 1915 and he preceded her in death in 1930 [should be March 14, 1934].
Survivors include one brother, Frank Coers of Waldron; one sister, Mrs. Alonzo "Lon" (Rose) Dodds of St. Paul; two step-sons, Lloyd Bailey and Fred Bailey of St. Paul; one step-daughter, Mrs. Lena Schaffer of Noblesville; two nieces, Mrs. Justine Carpenter and Mrs. Florence Reed of St. Paul; and two nephews, Dennis and Floyd Coers of Waldron.
Funeral services will be held at the late home at 2:00 p.m. today with Rev. M.R. Kerr, pastor of the Waldron Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery in charge of D.E. Carmony, St. Paul funeral director. Friends may call at the Carmony Funeral Home until 6:00 p.m. Sunday.
