Socks was my girls cat. She was so beautiful and so cuddly when it suited her. She loved to have the tap left on so she could go get her own water not that we left it on, on purpose but she was caught enjoying it many times! She was a fiesty kitty but loveable. She died in our house fire in 2004. We managed to get all our pets out of the house but she hid in my oldest daughters closet and firefighters found her after she'd consumed too much smoke. They had her wrapped up when they brought her out of the house so we didn't see her after the fire. She is deeply missed and we are deeply saddened as that tragedy was one we will never forget. Hopefully she didn't suffer and went quickly, as the thought that she did suffer just aches my heart. I have been adding the lost pets one at a time on this beautiful site as I want to acknowledge them all on here so I can have a place to physically put little toys and flowers and honor their memory. These pictures are of a friend of Jenna's cat who resembles Socks identically, as our pictures didn't survive but Jenna wouldn't hear of no pictures as they are identical. Jenna needed pictures to be able to look at, she cries a lot at not having ours anymore but not a lot of our stuff made it in that fire though. The picture of Jenna is my Jenna the beauty she is with the broken heart still and it's been over a year but a house fire they don't forget.
