Ellen (Bennett) Lyon, 79, of Bentonville died Thursday afternoon at a Rogers nursing home. She was born on July 10, 1895 in Hayfield, England and came to the United States in 1913. She served in the Army Nursing Corps during World War I. Her husband, Ray Elmer Lyon, died on April 8, 1950. She is survived by her sons, John Ramsey Lyon of Linn, Missouri and Raymond Evans Lyon of Ottumwa, Iowa; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Burns Funeral Home in Bentonville conducted by Rev. Albert Schwartakoph. Burial will be in Bentonville Cemetery.
