FRIENDSHIP – Hattie Clara Burns, 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 14, 2015. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and dedicated 46 year member and 26 year Sunday school teacher at Friendship Baptist Church. She loved to cook, bake, garden, attend church and take care of children and others in any way possible. She was a loving and caring person and true woman of faith and ALWAYS put others before herself. A special prayer and thanks also to everyone at Baldwyn Nursing Facility where she spent the last three and a half years of her life.Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery.She is survived by five children, Clara Maland of Mundelein, Ill., Richard Burns, (Diane) of Albany, Ga., Susan Fitzgerald of Lindenhurst, Ill., Ray Burns (Ann) of Baldwyn, and Kathy Brown of Baldwyn; sisters, Ethel Jean McCreary of Balwdyn and Luna Pace of Corinth; 19 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norris Lee Burns; son, Donnie Burns; daughter, Nance Sample; her parents, John and Effie Scott; and 10 siblings.
