Anne FitzSimmons Abbiss, age 70, died on Sunday, June 14, 2015. Anne was born and raised in Wilmington. She was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Anne Hughes FitzSimmons. She was a graduate of Padua Academy and Saint Francis Hospital Lab Tech Program. Anne and her late husband, J.W. Abbiss M.D., owned Professional Clinical Labs.

They traveled extensively and Anne returned to some of their favorite destinations: England, Ireland, Kenya and Jamaica. For many years, Rehoboth Beach was her home for the summer.

Anne was a member of St. Ann’s Church, and for a number of years supported St. Mary’s Church on the East Side.

She is survived by her brother, Thomas J FitzSimmons; her sister, Marie FitzSimmons; her brother in law, Jonathan Enos; her nephew, Jeffery F. Enos; and a host of caring cousins.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St Ann’s Church, Gilpin Avenue and Union Street, Wilmington on Saturday morning, June 20 at 9:30AM. Interment will follow at Lower Brandywine Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Saint Ann’s School, 2006, Shallcross Avenue, Wilmington, DE 19806.
