Isaac Sparks, son of John and Mary (Bradshaw) Sparks, was born About 1810, according to information given on the 1850, 1860, and 1880 censuses. However, on his tombstone in the Silent Cemetery at DeSoto, Kansas, his birth was inscribed as November 22, 1797. (Which would have made his Mother only 14 years old at his birth) In a special census of Jefferson County, Kansas, in 1885, Isaac's sister Abigail is listed as residing in that county and further, it has her brother, Isaac Sparks as living in her household at that time. When the census was taken Isaac is listed as being 76 years old. This puts him closer to the 1810 birth date.
