12 May 1924: Grant Albert Schaeffer, who was formerly of Swatara Township, died at Ebenezer this morning. He was aged 52 years. He was a member of United Brethren Church of Ebenezer, and was a member of the following fraternal orders; Swatara Tribe #276, Int. Order of Redmen #114, the Order of Reindeer, and Lebanon Valley Castle #6 of AOKOMC. He was formerly employed as a foreman in the blast furnace department of the Bethlehem Steel Co. and served nine years as constable of North Lebanon Township. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Copenhaver Schaeffer; daughter Fannie E. Kreider, of Ebenezer; sons John Schaeffer of Jonestown; William G. at home; step-son Harry E. Rhoade of Jonestown; two brothers, William Schaeffer, CA; Fred Schaeffer, E. Lehman Street, Lebanon; sister Mrs. Lizzie Uhrich of W. Mifflin Street, Lebanon. Funeral in Ebenezer United Brethren Church. Rohland's Parlors in charge and Rev. Samuel Waltz officiated. Sons and brothers of the deceased served as pallbearers.
