Charles Osterling Passes Away
Funeral services for Charles Osterling, Sr., 90, of 213 W. Canal St., Augusta, will be held Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Schlueter Farley Funeral Home in Augusta, with Rev. Richard E. Cobb of Fellowship United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Augusta Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Osterling passed away on Tuesday, March 4 at Lakeview Hospital, Battle Creek, where he had been a patient since Feb. 13. Mr. Osterling was born Oct. 9, 1884 in Barry County and was a lifelong resident of the Augusta area. He was a farmer most of his life. His wife, Edna, preceded him in death in 1969. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Lucille Weaver, Delton; four sons— William, at home; Wayne, Battle Creek; Charles Jr., Scotts, and Carl, Galesburg; one sister, Miss Lavina Osterling, Kalamazoo; 11 grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Fellowship United Methodist Church of Augusta, or to a charity of choice. The Argus March 6 1975 page 3
