Actual burial location of this soldier is unknown - felt it important to memorialize his patriotism to the United States in hopes that his ancestors will locate him and add his name to their family tree.

The Battle of Molino del Rey was one of the bloodiest engagements of the Mexican-American War. It was fought in September 1847 between Mexican forces under General Antonio Léon against an American force under General Winfield Scott at El Molino del Rey near Mexico City.

The "gallant steeds of the Sun" as if anticipating the general anxiety pervading all classes of the community to obatin early and authentic information as to the names of the killed and wounded in the recent battles, as well as of the character of their wounds, came through again last night, twenty-four hours in advance of the mail, with the following important intelligence:
Our express package brought us the Picayune and Delta of the 15th inst., from the latter of which we extract the annexed list of the killed, wounded and missing in the recent engagements near the walls of the city (New Orleans, Louisiana)
