DIGHTON - Orpha L. Stormont, 87, died Nov.
7, 1991, a t St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City.
She was born Jan. 3, 1904, at Topeka, the
daughter of Asa and Lottie Yokum Shumate.
A Lane County resident since 1922, she was
a homemaker.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Dighton.
On Aug. 19, 1922, she married Frank Lester
Stormont at Ness City. He died May 14,1971.
Survivors include: a daughter, Helen Browne,
Scottsdale, Ariz.; three grandchildren; and
three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at the
United Methodist Church, Dighton, with the
Rev. Paul Irwin presiding. Burial will be in the
Dighton Memorial Cemetery, Dighton.
Memorials may be sent to the Lane County
Historical Society in care of the Boomhower Funeral Home, Dighton.
