Per Cook Descendant (#49289543), Pvt Sutton received 3 Purple Hearts (which would be a Purple Heart with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters). He says: I reviewed the morning reports for H Company, 331st infantry regiment, 83rd infantry division. Those show that he was LWA (lightly wounded in action) in July 1944 and Dec 1944. He was also KIA on Jan 11, 1945. You will not find official documentation because his military records caught fire in 1973 at the National Records Center in St Louis, MO.
